High Desert Harmony Chorus presented "Harmony in the Park -- A Celebration of Barbershop Music" on Sunday, July 9, 2023 to an enthusiastic audience of more than 400 people. Wingfield Park in downtown Reno is the perfect venue for this fun family-oriented show, which also featured the Silver Dollar Chorus, Free Range quartet, the Question Marks quartet, and dancer Lydia Purves-Ware. The evening started out with an interactive workshop on the joys of barbershop music -- the kids loved learning the brief four-part tag which they sang on stage with HDH. The men of Silver Dollar Chorus joined HDH for the final two songs, a fun rendition of "Java Jive" and "America the Beautiful."
HDH appreciates being part of Artown each July, and we thank our sponsors, including the City of Reno Arts and Culture Commission, whose support made this production possible.
